Freedom from Panic Attacks and Social Anxiety without Drugs or Therapy
By Steve Pavilanis and Patricia Alma Lee 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards Finalist – Self Help Category
A Life Less Anxious is the effective step-by-step guide to help anyone experiencing excessive worry and anxiety seize control of their life and find peace of mind. While tens of millions in the U.S. suffer from social anxiety and panic attacks, far more endure less severe yet debilitating levels of anxiety.
This book aims to empower individuals to overcome their fears and enjoy a life of renewed freedom from worry without having to depend on medication or traditional talk therapy.
Written by a normal, everyday guy who experienced panic attacks and anxiety and overcame these problems himself. My first-hand knowledge and ability to relate to the reader makes this book a compelling read. I am not a medical doctor or therapist. Rather, I am someone who successfully triumphed over his own severe anxiety problems and got his life back to a healthy state of wholeness and optimism.
The book is broken into three parts:
My Story. My life was very normal and enjoyable until I was blindsided by my first panic attack. For five years, I struggled painfully with constant worry and fear, frustrating experiences with various therapies and medications, and the shrinking prison my life became. I became agoraphobic, doing all I could to avoid common social situations such as taking public transportation, going to the barber or dentist, and public speaking.
Learning the Lessons.
You can learn what I learned using the same techniques and approaches I used to reclaim my life. I show you where to find inspiration, how to think properly and quiet your worrisome mind, and introduce you to calming mental and physical techniques including the basics of meditation.
Applying the Lessons. By showing step-by-step how I applied each lesson from Part II to my life, you know what to expect, and will understand that these techniques can work for you too.
